Welcome to Prior Lake Savage Area Schools Food Service. We provide all students with well balanced, nutritious, high quality, meal options that promote good physical and mental development. Each school has a full preparation kitchen offering a main line and alternate line menu. Our menus meet or exceed Federal guidelines. Menu planning is always a challenge and we have several factors that guide the choosing of items when planning school meals. Some factors include choosing foods that are popular with the students, meeting the USDA Dietary Guidelines and fall within the food service budget. All menus are subject to change daily due to product availability.

We currently use a USDA approved nutritional analysis softwareprogram for our elementary and secondary main line menus. The nutritional analysis of the menus, as well as a listing of food items, is located on our web page. Nutritional analysis is only a guideline and can only be as accurate as the product label which is subject to change at any given time due to product availability.

All schools will continue to use the prepaid computer system for payment of meals. Students enter a personalized number on a keypad and the price of the meal is deducted from their account. Depositing money into your child's meal account is easy! We accept cash, checks or online payments. If you choose to send payments with your child to school please follow the cash or check payment directions.

Cash:Please send cash in an envelope with your child's first and last name along with teacher's name and homeroom number written on the front of the envelope.
Check:Please make checks out to the name of your student's school (example: Five Hawks Elementary). You can write one check out for multiple children, if all attend the same school, just be sure toinclude all first and last names of the children in the memo part of the check.
On-line:You will need to set up an account at PayPams.com. There is a small fee added to each transaction. After your account has been created you may check the balance of your child(ren)'s account and see their daily purchases, regardless of how payments are made.

2012-2013 Prices:
Elementary: Lunch $2.25
Secondary: Lunch $2.35
Adult/Guest: Lunch $3.25

Students may purchase an additional entrée for $1.35. At the secondary buildings ala carte items are also available. There MUST be money in the student's account to receive extras and ala carte items.

Free/Reduced Meal Program: If you would like to apply for free or reduced meal benefits you may do so any time of the year. You can find an application for free/reduced meals on our web site, the Minnesota Department of Health web site, at your child's school office, or at the Prior Lake Public Library. You MUST reapply every school year for meal benefits as it does not carry over from year to year.
